EPG, catch-up and VOD: what they actually do
Three useful features, three different jobs. Here is how to recognise them in your player.
EPG: your programme guide
The electronic programme guide shows current and upcoming programmes for supported channels. It helps you browse without opening each stream. Missing guide information does not always mean the underlying channel is unavailable.
If times look wrong, check your device’s time zone and the guide settings in your player. Ask support about a guide refresh if information remains out of date.
Catch-up: recent broadcasts, where supported
Catch-up lets you replay earlier programmes on channels that support it. The available window and the way it is presented depend on the provider and player. It is not a recording of every channel, and it is not the same as a permanent video library.
VOD: choose what starts next
Video on demand is a library of films or episodes that you select yourself. Titles, language tracks, subtitles and picture quality depend on the available catalogue and source. A title can appear or disappear as the catalogue changes.

Use a trial to test the difference
Pick a channel with guide information, an available catch-up programme and an on-demand title. Check that your player exposes each feature clearly. Ask about anything essential before choosing a long subscription.
